Boshack is definitely an adventure that city dwellers like me never got to experience. You cannot tell yourself you have experienced Australia until you have walked the trails that the natives walked on...at Boshack.Jeremy (Singapore)
You will not get a more unique Australian experience anywhere other than Boshack Outback. Once you hit the unsealed road and see the imperfect, rustic signage, you immediately realize that Boshack is not a place of rules. Boshack brings you back to basics very quickly, it has everything you need yet you are embedded in untouched, real surroundings and you know there is nothing more you want. The stillness and silence bestowed upon you is great in every way.
Boshack gives you the freedom to slow down time, be in peace, enjoy your family and simplify your thought processes. Time moves at your pace at Boshack.
Our two small children were able to do as they please, feed the animals, run through the lake, pick the organic herbs and veggies to do their own ‘cooking’, go canoeing. The two days we spent created memories that you can’t get in the city or at a regular camping ground. We are so glad we came. The fresh air will give you the best night’s sleep.
Derek was fantastic as the host and tour guide. We highly recommend the outback tour which includes feeding the animals, billy tea and damper, aboriginal stories, history and eating delicacies, not to mention riding at the back of the open trailer. How many times would one do this?
Derek’s passion for the best things in life, the Australian way, are reflected in the experience of what is Boshack Outback. Thanks guys, we look forward to coming back!Vanessa and Michael Pereira (Perth, Western Australia)
One of the most memorable experiences during my trip to WA. Thanks for this experience! Shall come again!Laykian (Singapore)
Hi Captain, do you still remember me? We drove the tractor with you on Feb. 16, 2006, and we called you 'Captain'. Thank you for your warm welcome and wonderful day tour arrangement, I asked the price of silk suit in Beijing sis about 500 RMB(about 95 Australian dollars), not too expensive, is it?Zhong X.A (China)
Boshack was a great experience which I will definitely be repeating. I helped build the dreamtime area with my cousin Mick and a few pathways. It's a beautiful place to chill out, swim, canoe, eat proper bush tucker prepared by chef dereck (ha ha) and just clear your head. O would reccomend it to everyone. Cheers!Barry OSullivan(Cork, Ireland)
Being a local, I was pleasantly suprised to “discover” this middle of nowhere place so close to civilisation. It is a gem! An outstanding experience. A great place to go and recharge your batteries. Would go back and recommend for friends.Jadely (Perth, Western Australia)
Atmosphere is awsome, the Aussie characters that love the land and everything it represents, it is the real Aussie experience. Have you ever known someone for five minutes and feel like you have known them forever? Have you visited a place where you don't have to be anywhere, just where you are? I am as Aussie as you get and Boshack is somewhere you can go and take in the experience. Beautiful and educational.Tarina Law (Dalby, Queensland)
After visiting Boshack this week, Jake and I have had the true Australian Outback experience! We look forward to seeing this place grow and prosper,
and promise to forward on our recommendations of Boshack!Rebecca Schlack (USA)
Boshack is a great way to experience the Aussie Aboriginal life.Ali Jones (Perth, Western Australia)
Thanks to all at Boshack - all our club members really enjoyed the experience - we all had a wonderful time on the club's recent visit - and look forward to returning again. The club wishes Boshack all the very best for the future.Valma Dower (Sandgroper Caravanners Club Nollamara)
It has been close to 6 months since I took my trip with Boshack and Chris and I still remember the good times. If (no when!) I get back to Australia, a return trip to the Outback with Boshack is on my to do list. Thanks for a memory that will last.Kurt Otto (Kuwait)
That was such a wonderful & different experience that we had @Boshack farm. Walking thru the bushes, braving thru the cold cold wind, feeding the kangeroos & having Aussie BBQ meal outdoor. Wow! Felt great! Thanks for the jacket, without that i think my mum would have become icy cold. :)Lyn and Mum (Singapore)
Thank you very much!! I had a great time and a good experience in Boshack. I'd like to visite there again. See you then. By the way, I like my pictures! Thanks a lot!!!Sarah (Taiwan)
Just wanted to thank you for providing such a wonderful place for us to come and enjoy a peaceful weekend retreat. Both my husband and myself watched in
amazement as our normally quite shy little girl embraced the Boshack experience and ran around enjoying the pristine environment. Thanks very much Deryck and Chrissy.Jodie Brown (Perth, Western Australia)
Boshack is a truly unique place and I would just like to thank Deryck and Chris for a fantastic time. I spent a week helping out at Boshack and thoroughly enjoyed every part of it and wish you guys all the best for the future. Hopefully see you again soon.Chris The Pathman (United Kingdom)
With a group of 7 guys coming in from around Asia and the UK I was looking for something uniquely Australian that would give these guys a taste of what Australia is all about. Boshack was exactly what I was looking for. When I say what Australia is all about I am not talking about the Sydney Harbour Bridge or Ayres Rock etc. What I am talking about is watching a sun set where the air is so clear and clean that the colours reflecting on the whisps of cloud look almost too perfect. I'm talking about the sounds of silence that are so quite on the lake that the sound of your own breathing is almost annoying. I'm talking about sitting around a campfire and staring into the red embers as you let whatever thoughts you have drift in and out of your mind like waves washing up and back on a beach. I'm talking about sharing some good food and some great laughs with people that you have known for 2 hours yet they feel like family. I'm talking about staring into a night sky where it's difficult to find the blackness between the vast number of stars. I'm talking about not wanting to leave because you know the 5 star hotel that your booked into will be dissappointing compared to this place. I'm talking about Australia and an afternoon/evening at Boshacks gave my guests a small taste of what we know life can be like in this 'lucky' country if you take some time out to appreciate its beauty. Thank you Christine and Deryck for giving me the opportunity to share some of this magic with my Asian and UK work collegues. All I can say is Fantastic!!!!!Gary Costa (RS Components Sydney)
Jack, Krissy and I had one of the best days out we have had since moving to Perth 5 Years ago. On the drive home, Jack (aged 6) asked us what was our favorite part? We could not decide between the yabbies, the witchity grubs, the billie tea, the paperbark forest, the digeredoo, the wild flowers, the food or the lake. He summed it up well by saying all of it was his favorite. Then he went to sleep for an hour. That was our second favorite part of the day. Rob Toohey (The Vines WA)Rob Toohey (Greenwich, Connecticut, USA)
It was the best Australian experience I've had since I landed here. Its groovy and fantabulous. Highly recommend to anybody who wants the best outback experience. The food is just gorgeous and the activity is fun and entertaining. Wish could come back there for fishing~! hahaha... thanks you guys~! to others, take my advice: try the grub, you won't regret it.Haz (Malaysia)
Just want to say a huge congrats to Deryck and Chris. All of your hard work seems to be paying off. I will have to get back up there again one day. Have you been showering much Dery... Take Care JezJez (Perth, Western Australia)
Super Duper indeed!! Thank you Chrissy & Deryck for such a lovely time & a most unique experience at Boshack. If we had more days, we definitely would have stayed another night by the lake tent...to soak in the peace & tranquility there. Also for more YUMMY food from Deryck!!! :-)Cathy and Liyana (Singapore)
Ever heard of the Million Stars Hotel? Well, that's exactly what Boshack is! Forget expensive visits to counselors, therapists and massage parlours ... one day & night @ Boshack turns you into a new, rejuvenated person! You'll have the experience of a lifetime and you'll never feel so close to nature as there! And guess what, it won't let go of you; it's just addictive and you'll wish you could visit Boshack every single weekend! You don't know what relaxation & being stress free means until you've visited Boshack! The hosts do a fabulous job making their guests feel welcome and comfortable. Nothing is asked to much! Their bush cuisine is absolutely divine ... Kids have the best time ever and everyone - of all ages - is having the time of their life! It was the most amazing trip/weekend my mum, my girls and myself experienced and we've been back for more and will keep returning, as that's exactly what Boshack is ... just moreish!!! Love, Gina, Caroline, Sophie and Maria xxxxGina Hellemans (Perth, Western Australia)
After seeing Ernie Dingo on the Great Outdoors in 2005? I was instantly attracted to Boshack and thought it would be a great place to take the kids. I finally made the booking for 2 nights in Oct 2007 to coincide with my daughters birthday. When I told my husband that I planned to book a 2 day camping holiday in W.A. he was incredulous - he said 'I'm not travelling 4 hours on a plane to camp 2 nights in W.A. - we can go camping on the east coast or if your heart is set on it I want you to book at least 10 more days elsewhere in W.A. to make the trip worthwhile.' Needless to say, Boshack was the highlight of the holiday and while we were there my husband turned to me and said 'I would come back to W.A. just for Boshack' It was so good in fact that we ended up staying an extra night.Allana Jellard (Melbourne, Victoria)
It's been more than a month back at work but I still can remember very clearly the wonderful time my family and I had with you guys. Everything including the drive to the farm was so enjoyable and my 2 little children are still talking about it. I am already recommending this visit to my relatives!Nickson and Family (Singapore)
Thank you so much for your hospitality. It was my first experience in Australian bush and it was one to remember. The atmosphere the setting and the people were great. I will be sure to tell everyone to visit if they are looking for a relaxing time.Allison Waters (Canada)
What a delight to see us as part of your photo gallery. It brought back a rush of great memories and a feeling of warmth. We will definitely be back to see you again:)Chris (Swan View, Western Australia)
Deryck, we didn't see any turtles!!!!!! Otherwise a great night.Tracey and Petrina (Calingiri)
Bring your toothbrush, a sense of humour and adventure and some grog for the campfire singalong. The animal tour on Gus's property was simply amazing. The bush tour at Boshack was fantastic and very educational. The food - damper, scones, emu & crocodile sausages and kangaroo fillet - were mouthwatering. The Lake Camp is the ideal way to finish such a fantastic tour. Chrissy and Gus were so full of life and laughs. This was an ideal family weekend away. Boshack Farm would be great for Corporate Team Building Events. Beware of the rabbid goat !! 'Guys look out, jump in your van!!'Peter Flanagan (Scarborough, Western Australia)
Boshack was great fun... The weather was kinda bad because it rained but but the experience was once in a life-time, belive me when i said that, the food, the tea, songs, the funky hats with the corks... Love ya all guys back at Boshack and the 3 baby kangaroos!!Sumitra (Singapore)
Hi Everyone,
And thanks so very much for the opportunity to stay at Boshack. I had a wonderful time and feel priviledged to both have stayed and also have left something behind with that new shack. I'd be delighted if my kids stayed in it one day in the future.
I truly hope the place grows to where you want it to. If I can help in any way, then please do let me know. I have already spoken to many friends and family about the place - they can feel I had a great time there. I've also posted a review on Trip Advisor. Hope it reads ok. I am in holiday mode after all!!!!
Thanks again and best wishesJeremy Marshall (United Kingdom)

My daughter Alli and her family (who live near Perth) visited you recently and had a fantastic time, she tells me that on my next visit to her; I have to come and savour the flavour for myself. She knows me so well and knows how much I love the Australia that was, and says Boshack will be the point of return for that love. So when I get 'home' the onus will be on you to fulfill her prediction. Good luck with your endevour, and... rspect to you all.Rick Park (Malta)
Hey Deryck!!!! It was the perfect introduction for me to get to know this beautiful country, and one of my best experiences that I have made in Australia. Thank youAfra and Jan (Muenster, Germany)
Hi Chris it was truly amazing, I came with Callum your little helper on the 12 of August.Rebecca (England)
I love everything about Boshack because this family experience is the experience that reminds me of growing up in the Aussie wheat belt with a few added comforts Ive grown accustomed to over the years. Thank youErnie Dingo (Brisbane, Queensland)
What a day! Fabulous - will be recommending this trip to everyone. A great way to chill out relax and have a good laugh. Thanks again and good luck with the new venture.Jo David and Jess Parsons (Mindarie Keys, Western Australia)
Boshack – where fun, laughter, inner peace and tranquility all came together in the real (non touristy) Australian outback! Boshack provided us with so much insight and an opportunity to experience the true Australian outback that we would highly recommend this place! Derek and the team were so friendly and accommodating and really went out of their way to make sure that we got what we expected!
We booked the 3 day Australian Outback Rustic Farm Stay and this natural rustic environment provided us with the opportunity to do all sorts of activities. We did a bushwalk and listened to the local tales and aboriginal stories. We learnt how to throw a boomerang, and play the didgeridoo. We fed the local livestock including the emu and kangaroos and did some amazing star gazing. We were even given the opportunity to do some “reflection” on life – which we never seem to do and yet these natural surroundings of “inner peace and tranquility” really inspired us to reflect and share our life’s experiences.
Even the accommodation, “rustic humpies”, whilst very basic, was really comfortable, spotlessly clean and added to the ambiance of the whole trip! The food was super delicious and finally the lake, well it’s not called Lake Serene for no reason – this place has really touched our hearts and we will be going back to Boshack!!Joanne and Mike (Liverpool, United Kingdom)
Hi Deryck, Thanks for the note in my guestbook - I was pretty surprised, I can tell you! So you've been surfing around the net, and by accident bumped into my travelpage. That's good work. Did you see the photo of you, and Ross? (scroll down, till you see a box named Boshack, with some pics of the bush experience). Yep, good old times. Remember, the weekend two backpackers visited Boshack to make a walkingpath through the 'haunted forest' (is it still 'alive' !? I mean, the path), put a net in the water, and did all kinds of other stuff... That was me, and the English guy Ross. After one year of travelling (through NZ, Australia and South east Asia afterwards) I'm back in the Netherlands again. Back to normal life, but still thinking a lot about Oz etc! Good luck with Boshack! Your website turned out to be well worked out. Nice and clear. Cheers Sarah http://sarah.web-log.nl (it's Dutch by the way! not German..)Sarah Lugthart (The Netherlands)
It was the best Aussie experienece a tourist could have, oh and the food was great and to all Muslim people out there the it is Halal. There is everything u could have, kangaroos (friendly) very friendly it was the best family getaway I have ever been on.Fiezal (Perth, Western Australia)
Hi Chrissy, Deryck, we had such a great time at Boshack. It's a unique way to experience a farm stay and Australia wildlife. Gus and Bernice, our farm hosts, were very friendly. We had a great time going around Gus' farm feeding the animals. My little girl enjoyed the baby goats at Gus' house so much she still talks about them now. The trip with Chrissy to the wild was a fantastic experience. We enjoyed this trip very much, and looking forward to go again one day. Thank you.Vonnie (Singapore)
