Fremantle Children’s Fiesta 2010

The Fremantle Children’s Fiesta is an annual event that celebrates and values children by bringing them together for a day of fun and enjoyment. It first started in 1979 and has had success over the years through its fun-filled activities, performances, and workshops. Moving from its normal timeslot in September, it now coincides with the Fremantle Festival in November.

“The theme for this year’s Fremantle Children’s Fiesta will be biodiversity. It will be a good opportunity to learn about the importance of protecting, conserving and improving the different plants, animals and micro-organisms, and the overall ecosystems of which they are a part.

Samson Park is a fitting location for this event as it is the last parcel of remnant bushland of its kind in the Fremantle area. Amazingly the park supports over 50 different species of birds, 80 kinds of ants, more than 700 species of insects, bugs and spiders and in excess of 80 native plants, trees and shrubs.” – Fremantle Festival
